ACC Annual Meeting 2019: “International Licensing Agreements: A Deep Dive”

Caroline Berube, Managing Partner of HJM Asia Law was speaking on the panel titled “International Licensing Agreements: A Deep Dive” at the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Annual Meeting held in Phoenix, Arizona, USA from October 27th to October 30th, 2019.  This is the place where in-house counsels connect and elevate their expertise with the latest on current legal issues, as well as benefit from trailblazing education and CLE/CPD credits.

As companies’ operations have become more global and business partners are located overseas, it is critical to understand the differences between the applicable US law and the law of the jurisdiction in which the business counterpart is located.  The panel session focused on licensing agreements involving parties in the United States, the European Union, and Asia, and covered business culture and negotiation styles, differences in types of intellectual property rights, license grant provisions, tax considerations, government approvals/registration requirements, antitrust issues, and dispute resolution.  Click here for a complete 2019 ACC program schedule and conference information.
